Templemeads Steps
This drawing is from a sketch I made whilst in Bristol Templemeads. The steps the sculpture and architecture intrigued me. I shall using these drawing to make large paintings of the city using bold colurs and generous shapes one against another.
Emerging from a whirlwind of color and texture, this artwork presents a resplendent scene that feels simultaneously familiar and abstract. The warm earth tones, set against cool aquamarine hues, conjure an impression of architectural grandeur bathed in dappled sunlight. Every brushstroke interlocks, creating a web where fluid lines form what appear to be archways and structures against rough-hewn walls.
The arrangement of colors and forms reflects the artist's nuanced understanding of spatial relationships, offering a play of light and shadow without relying on literal interpretations. As time progresses, one anticipates how this evocative piece will continue to engage viewers, revealing new layers of intrigue with each closer inspection.
