  • The carriage driveway on the Sharpham Estate is a walk that I have continued to enjoy over the years. The view over looking the reed beds at Sharpham Marsh, means a lot to me.
  • I have often paused my walk and sat here pondering the view as it changes gently though the seasons.Sometimes i sit and sketch other times I gather things and trundle down the hill to the reed beds by the river Dart.
  • This is the view from just off the Sharpham estate carriage drive looking toward Dartmouth. The tree lines have changed as a result of storms coming in from the Atlantic, even in the last couple of years I have seen and drawn as well as painted the effects of climate change.
  • I have been involved with the environmental  the saltmarsh project https://bioregion.org.uk/project/thesaltmarshproject/  I am keen to support the vital role that the marsh has in carbon capture and storage. The river Dart flows down to the sea at Dartmouth. The original drawing is made on watercolour board using found natural, site specific pigments that are augmented with pastel and other materials from my studio. I have shown here the working process along with some little studies made on other visits. This work is ready to hang.
