Quince

£150.00 Sale Save

The painting of this charming fruit after so many charcoal and ink drawing of quinces was invigorating. It was fun to layer up the colours and feel the emerging shape, almost like a women in Reubens painting it seemed to me. Or perhaps the rotund figures of the legal profession depicted by Daumier?

The process of a dialogue with these quinces was such fun. The materials used, the snap of charcoal on fine paper, sending a black dust into the pores of beautiful paper. The sounds and feelings the wakened senses aching to be fed. Do watch the short video and tell me what you think, you can then be in line to receive a hand drawn quince of your own for free. Simply sign up to the mailing list and add your thoughts in comments section and send to me. Best of luck and it is just some fun.

I did the work on paper with acrylics and chose to use a square paper in order to let the quince take centre stage.
