Primavera, Dartmoor.
This is a very beautiful woodland within the Dartmoor National Park. Throughout the seasons the landscape from Dartmoor along the river and out down to the sea, has fascinated me. This spring view in May, was drawn using mixed media and on to the heavy paper I added some gesso to provide more texture to the surface.
I sat quietly quite undisturbed at the corner of the wood having trudged around looking for the composition that I wanted. The little touch of gorse amongst the grasses and running along the edge of the fence. The fence posts provide a break from all the organic and natural shapes and colours.
I love to work with soft pastels on a good quality paper as I not only enjoy the feel of working across the surface but also the sounds.
