Aloft above Bristol
£120.00
Staying in room 530 Bristol Templemeads during August, this was a view that had many aspects to it. There is something graceful about cranes moving over a city skyline. In some ways perhaps they are nostalgic, when Churchill died the cranes along the Thames lowered their jibs.I have enjoyed the manmade structures as i scour the skyline for parks and trees to contrast with rigid forms of the buildings and construction sites.
This painting in acrylic using phthalo green is partnered by a slightly smaller version using phthalo blue.
The view from quite height in the hotel was very captivating to my mind. The building site was a hive of activity and rather than complain, I think I rather enjoyed it.
