Reedbed No.4
A selection of hand printed reedbed leaves as part of my work on the Saltmarsh project as a collaborative artist. Working in the studio using a small hand roller on the glass topped work table using some black water based printing inks and some heavy paper (200gsm paper) to make these minimalist prints.
The fallen leaves from the edge of the Saltmarsh on the river diver Dart, are a lovely textural element to explore with this project. I am going to explore more printing techniques this year.
Prior to using the press it is nice to explore the surface of the subject, in this case plant matter with a gentle yet subtle printing technique. These prints vary slightly in size and are simply mounted in double mounts to give an overall size of 300 mm x 400 mm.
