A very special place to sit and reflect throughout the passing seasons. Deep in reed bed are considerable amounts carbon, these reed beds must have witnessed much, absorbing as they are. I love the sense of being at the end of the board walk deep in the marsh, tidal and elemental, surrounded by tall reeds. the movement and sound reach every sense in the body.
This is a mixed media work on paper using site specific materials looking down the river Dart toward Dartmouth, I really love the sound of the wind in the reeds and constantly changing light. i use found pigments and what is to hand as the boldness and freedom seem to make a simple bond with the land. A token to bring back to my studio.
