Easter Flowers.

An Easter drawing of flowers as this is always such a promising time of year. This is a pastel drawing, made using Rembrandt pastels on acid free paper. I so enjoy making loose and generous marks to convey the energy in my work. 

The idea of drawing regular still life compositions is for me anyway, not only means one is practising drawing but also working on form and composition. These skills are just as important, almost key, for drawing landscapes when out walking.

I am always excited to start a drawing of daffodils they are such happy flowers. Here a tall glass vase holds these daffodil bunches as their faces reach out around the room. The vibrant yellows and long straight stems in an almost glowing green are set against a blue cloth, the texture of the pastel paper just showing through.
