What hidden stories lie within the intertwined patterns of this abstract creation? Observing the intricate web of lines and organic shapes sparks curiosity and a feeling of discovery. The earthy tones contrast with the lighter areas, weaving a complex narrative across the surface. The composition appears alive, with each segment interacting fluidly, forming a unified yet detailed landscape. Negative space punctuates the scene, providing resting points that enrich the overall visual experience. As viewers linger, they may perceive the soft murmurs of the artwork, promoting exploration of its mysterious depths. This piece offers a soothing yet stimulating experience, blending visual complexity with a quiet, contemplative charm.

The Bioregional project that has developed the Saltmarsh project has totally enthralled me. I have work from gel prints of reed bed leaves to produce some linocuts. Here I used earth prints from the saltmarsh detritus as a basis. I am using a small studio based hand press and Schmincke water based inks.

I have added some extra images here to let you see my simple process.

On this print I have used Kitakata select paper from the Japanese Awagami factory and I am very happy with the outcome.
